IT was certainly an exciting night for thousands of Manchester united supporters who intensely watched the dramatic all-English Champions League final against Chelsea.
But none were more eager or more nervous than the jubilant United fans who packed into the Halal Inn in Oldham to watch the Champions League finals.
A huge screen was provided for the Red’s fans who packed into their halal local to cheer on their team who had performed for a prolonged lap of honour.
Wishing for another Red’s victory, Ronaldo’s missed penalty had them clench their teeth in nervous anticipation.
But it was goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar who sent the fans into raptures as he made the crucial penalty save to win the match.
Said owner of Halal Inn, Azizur Rahman: “It was a very jubilant night indeed.
“There are many football fans in Coldhurst and Westwood and everybody wanted to watch the big match on the big screen and as a local socialising Inn I thought it was important to provide this for local young people.
“Everybody had a good night especially after United’s win.”
