Following a very successful first year, The Oldham Academy North is celebrating the publication of its 2011 examination results showing a 7% increase in headline GCSE results compared with the school it replaced.
“The 7% improvement in the key GCSE figure is very pleasing. Our commitment when we opened was to rapidly raise standards and we have delivered on that promise. We are particularly pleased to have exceeded targets in Maths and Science, with good GCSE grades up to 65% and 71% respectively. The progress students make now is much greater, they work harder and achieve better. We expect this rate of improvement to continue year on year and look forward to celebrating excellent GCSE results this Summer. Our journey to becoming a world class school is well underway.”
