Oldham Community Leisure Ltd are currently seeking a highly committed, experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual who will have the necessary leadership skills to coordinate and oversee the coaching programme of The Oldham Aquatics Swim Team.
OCLL are a Swim 21 accredited training scheme at both Skill and Competitive development levels. With approximately 100 swimmers who require preparation for County, Regional and National competitions. Oldham Aquatics have a strong track record of producing National finalists and medalists and swimmers qualifying for Regional Talent Development camps, AASE Programme and Northwest Beacon Programme.
The successful applicant will be expected to direct a team of Coaches and Volunteers as well as personally coach the top squad.
The Oldham Aquatics Swim Team provided by Oldham Community Leisure Ltd works directly with the 5 local clubs within the borough to provide a high class training programme to meet the requirements of elite swimmers in Oldham.
The post holder will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and delivery of the Oldham Aquatics Swim Team aimed to increase participation and the standard of swimming in Oldham.
The successful applicant will have previous experience of coaching/teaching and have a proven track record as a Swimming Coach/Teacher showing good communication with local clubs. An ASA Level 3/UKCC Level 3 Coaching Qualification in Swimming is preferred but ASA Level 2 Coaches or Teachers will the relevant experience will be considered and the candidate must also possess a current RLSS/NARS NPLQ or equivalent.
The hours of work for the position are 40 per week in line with the needs of the scheme, which will include evening and weekend work and cover for galas. The rate of pay is OCL Band 7, points 20 – 22, which equates to £20,042 – £21,292 per annum. This is a consolidated rate and covers all hours worked. The role is also eligible for admission to the local government pension scheme, family membership to OCL facilities, car parking and staff discount scheme.
