Coldwood Community Festival 10th & 11th September
The Coldwood Community Foundation announces their Mega-Funfair-Festival next weekend
The fair is taking place at the site of Oldham Academy North (formerly known as Grange School) and opens at 10am.
The event promises to be jam-packed with fun activities for all the family. Activities on offer will include fairground rides such as Dodgems and the Waltzer, a bazaar, food, childrens’ entertainment, rickshaw rides, henna and competitions with fantastic prizes.
Organiser Ruhel Khan said “An enormous amount of work has gone into making sure a huge spectacle is put on for all to enjoy. The aim is to bring all our different communities together and enjoy themselves collectively in a true festive spirit. We are grateful to all our sponsors, supporters and the community who have supported this initiative from the very beginning.”
One of the main aspects of the event is to promote the Coldwood Community Foundation, a new community organisation which has been set up by local people who want to provide a range of services that the community can benefit from. The Coldwood Community Festival is just one of many events which they aim to put on. The organisers of the festival have also teamed up with Islamic Relief which is part of the Emergency Disaster Committee to raise funds for orphans and the crisis in East Africa.
