Channel-S All Stars Entertain Spicy Business at Oldham’s Taj Palace

by st editor Monday 21st March 2011

    Taj Palace, Oldham

The Taj Palace once again was host to an Oldham Business Networking Event – this time arranged by Spice City, a local Monthly Paper catering to the Restaurant and Hospitality Industry.

A range of speakers from the Industry and it’s support services, including the organisers themselves and sponsors such as Colette Burgess from The Oldham Academy North, took the stage making positive statements about their particular sectors and of the many opportunities to be found even in the current economic climate.

Spice City’s Restaurant reviewer told us what a tgreat ime she has going to restaurants and writing them up, confessing that she wasn’t really a curry eater before the job but now she certainly is.

Another speaker Paul Murton, Business Advisor from the Manchester Chamber of Commerce brought a bit of the Manchester “can-do” attitude to Oldham. He not only had a number of encouraging things to say regarding business in the region, with examples of where the Chamber had helped in training schemes such as “Taking Ownership” – but also pointed out that even during the recession, the North-West region’s exports stood at 20% – up 3% and were positive compared with the country as a whole and that the region itself currently stands as the 4th largest economy within the UK.

Channel-S All Stars from the channel’s “X-factor” style show, provided after-event entertainment.
Well done to the organisers for snagging them!
