Debjani Chaterjee leading Coldhurst Story Group

Successful Writer Debjani Chaterjee and will be leading the October Coldhurst Story Group
Debjani has been called a poet ‘full of wit and charm’ (Andrew Motion), ‘Britain’s best-known Asian poet’ (Elisabetta Marino) and ‘a national treasure’ (Barry Tebb). She has written 60+ books for children and adults.
Her work has won major prizes, including Sheffield Hallam University’s honorary doctorate ‘for outstanding contribution to Literature, the Arts and community service’. In 2008 she received an MBE.
“My mother tongue is Bengali and I also have Hindi. Since Hindi and Urdu sprang from the same source, I can manage some spoken Urdu too.”
