Digital Economy Bill Passes 3rd Reading in 2 Hours

Digital Economy DebateWith just 2 hours debate the Digital Economy Bill passed its third reading – minus a few more clauses.

A number of MPs  admitted that it still needs work being far to complex and wide ranging to deal with in the “wash up”  before dissolving Parliament.  Liberal Democrats and a number of Labour MPs opposed with former Cabinet Office minister Tom Watson tweeting “First time I’ve ever broken the whip in the chamber. I feel physically sick…”
Now we must wait until the next Parliament to see what is offered in the way of patches.
