Feni – Chittagong

Cycling in BangladeshDay 5

We left Feni with new cyclists from Dhaka and Feni joining the group on the Asian highway. Although I was a little apprehensive at first about this the busiest highway with trucks and coaches it was a great day of cycling with the support teams looking after the riders.

We tried to visit an old Hindu temple in Sita Kundo although it is in the Lonely Planet’s guide the locals obviously didn’t know where it is so we ended up going through an eco-park to nowhere to the sheer disappointment of many of us. We arrived in chittagong and went straight to chittagong club followed by the evening concert and pizza hut.

Also Omari Williams was a star today as we stopped for a water break near a school outside Chittagong he showed of his football skills to the joy of hundreds of screaming school kids who chased him and the ball. The kids obviously thought he was Nigerian international footballer.
