The Big Bangla Run aka The Dhaka International 10km Run which was initially slated to be held this Friday January 18, will now be held on March 1st.
Due to lack of visibility during the month of February due to dense fog, we have decided to defer the run by few days and hold it on March 1st.
The reason cited for the rescheduling is an old favourite frequently used by transport organisations in the U.K. – The Weather.
At a press conference at the Bangabandhu National Stadium Abidur Rahman Shimu, chairman of Big Bangla Run, said “Due to lack of visibility during the month of February due to dense fog, we have decided to defer the run by few days and hold it on March 1”.
The Big Bangla Run, an organisation of Bangladeshi expatriates in United Kingdom are collaborating with the Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) to realise this great sporting run. Although the event will be delayed by some six weeks organisers are still upbeat with BAF vice president Tofazzal Hossain expressing pleasure at being involved with the international run, saying that they would be providing technical assistance during the event.
