Pool Lifeguard – deadline extended to 24 March
Oldham Community Leisure Limited’s Fit4Work scheme has been launched and is seeking to make a difference to the lives of people in the Oldham community. This scheme supports Oldham Council’s ambition to regenerate Oldham by helping the unemployed residents back into work. The Fit4Work scheme will offer a minimum of six academy places per year, which will provide a place on a nationally recognised training course and qualification, a dedicated work placement for a minimum of five weeks and a guaranteed interview for casual work, once the placement and qualification are complete.
This will be at no cost to the individual; however there will be no payment for attendance on the work placement or training course.
The process will be as follows:
- Minimum 5 week work placement
- Maximum 1 week training course
- Guaranteed interview for casual work
Please note that the guaranteed interview for casual work will only be offered where vacant hours are available. There is no guarantee of employment at the end of the scheme; however individuals will be skilled and eligible to apply for any future vacancies which arise.
In order to try to raise the economy and employability within the Oldham borough this opportunity is currently restricted to those who:
- Currently reside at an Oldham postcode
- Currently unemployed

7th – 12th April 2014 – extended to 24 March
