Oldham holds 12 Year Anniversary Celebration for Bangla TV

banglatvlogoNorthwest viewers and community celebrate 12 years of Bangla TV today.

A North west BanglaTV viewers forum was held at Moza Bites, Oldham today 17th Sept to celebrate the 12th Broadcasting Birthday of the Satellite channel Bangla TV.

Commenting the use of the mother-tongue and it’s use in popular media, the chief guest Zoky Ahad – assistant high commissioner for Peoples Republic of Bangladesh said “We must teach our next generation bangla and also watch and support bangla tv”. The history of the channel was illustrated by guest speakers Cllr Abdul Jabbar of Oldham and Mizanur Rahman founder of the Just Help Foundation, while Moshahid Hussain also spoke about his association with the channel.

Others present were representatives from local community organisations, media and VIPs.  The Programme was presented by Muzahid Khan of Sylhet Times Digital. The cake was cut and food served and Syed Sadek Ahmed the chief reporter of Bangla TV in the north-west thanked everyone for attending.


Bangla TV was Britain’s first satellite Bangla channel with over 2 million Bengali viewers in the UK and Europe .
