Taj Palace Hosts Chronicle Business Network

by st editor Thursday 3rd February 2011

Pride in Oldham at Taj Palace

On Weds 2nd The Chronicle held it’s latest business networking event at King Street’s Taj Palace.

The first event of 2011 marked a change from breakfast event to early evening. Editor Dave Whaley commented on the change saying that changing from a Bacon Butty breakfast would be good for the diet – although we can’t quite see the switch to curry as being exactly a lo-calorie option.

So much for the appetiser then, in additional to the networking opportunity – the meat and main course of the of the evening was the boosting the main business and community events running this year.

The 100 in 100 Apprenticeship scheme was highlighted and businesses were encouraged to get involved with. Providing apprenticeships being never more important than today with youth unemployment now at a record high.

We were reminded that entries for the One Oldham Business Awards in March are still open for nominations until Feb 15th. Oh and they are now on Facebook.

We were also reminded that November will see the 10th Pride in Oldham Awards and the organisers were promising something extra special to mark the occasion.
