The Oldham Academy North Signs Its Steel

Today saw the Steel Signing Ceremony at the site that will become the new home of the Oldham Academy North at Broadway, Royton – previously the location of Newman College / Our Lady’s School.

There was quite a lot of steel already planted and in evidence but this was the last piece of the building frame: a symbol of the new beginning of the new school’s new home. Once signed by Principal Colette Burgess, E-ACT Director General Sir Bruce Liddingon, local councillors and pupils from the school, the officially grafitti-ed girder was hoisted with a cheer from the assembled dignitaries and fitted into place.
